Lotus, we love you, over the years you’ve produced hits such as the special Exige, the wildly fun Elise, and about 5,000 lightweight versions of the Evora, but how about you add another E to your line, the Elan
Think about it Lotus, the name has soul and history, It would be every gear head’s wet dream if you made it and I bet you people would buy it, so revenue for you. So how about you take Shia LeBeouf’s advice and Just Do It, make the new Elan

Can you garenteed that another coachbuilt sportscar would be competitive with Porsche, Chevy Ford ect., If you can then that’s great. Lotus hasn’t had very much success recently and honestly if it was me looking a porsche or a lotus, I’m going porsche all the way, lotus is the worst when it comes to parts availability and such, unless it’s one of the Toyota parts they use you’ll never find it anywhere else other than from lotus. That concept looks good tho. Really lotus needs to become a more mass market sports car manufacturer before they really start to win. Hopefully geely will help fix that

What are you talking about? Lotus is like Pagani, they aren’t meant to make as many cars as Ford, Porsche,or Chevy

Just because they aren’t doesn’t mean they shouldnt. The coach built era of regular sports cars is over, people want parts availability and such. I was literally saying that unless they become a dedicated manufacturer with production numbers and a market they have no point in expanding because expansion and development is expensive for a car that most people probably don’t want.

They probably can’t call it an elan:

They called the concept an Elan, so why not the production car?
